Casting Assistant Work/Referrals
Casting Assistant Work/Referrals
Aziza Amy has never been a GREEN person. She doesn't expect to get everything. When a role is not suitable for her or her music does not fit for a film, she has submitted other bands music or other actors she seems fit. Being on the other side of the camera has helped her grow as an artist in all lights, and she has helped many others reach their goals. Below is a list of her history in the business as a casting assistant and referrer.
CASTING ASSISTANT WORK
"61" 2000-2001: Starring Thomas Jane, Berry Pepper, Christopher McDonald, Jennifer Crystal, and Anthony Michael Hall. Directed by Billy Crystal: HBO Films. Hired under Cathy Thomas (CSA) as a casting assistant in charge of 100 extras that she put in the film.
"Hardball" 2001: Starring Keanu Reeves and Diane Lane. Paramount Pictures. Placed 75-80 extras in the film and hired as casting assistant to Cathy Thomas (CSA).
"Below" 2001: Starring Bruce Greenwood. Referred 3 specialty navy actors in the film under Maureen Dreher (CSA).
REFERRAL WORK
These referrals are all who are heard or in the actual films.
"Broken" Referred Dave Gries (Christian) to the film and Matt Lang (Christians Father) while she tried out and was awarded the role "Beth" the lead female.
"Broken" the soundtrack: Referred the music of Unfinished Thought and PopEvils music to the film. PopEvils music is featured on the trailer. Unfinished Thought and Denduras (Azizas band Dendura) is heard in the film.
"Real Stories" Japan: Was casted as the lead role "Theresa" and referred actor Dave Borowitz to play her husband.
"Life on Jupiter Street" : Submitted own music and then referred Unfinished Thought being Denduras music was too heavy for the soundtrack.
"Buck Moon" in process of referring music.
Aziza Amy decided to open a small business in 1999 since she was successful at finding herself work and referring others, Without making it a conflict of interest, she did not run a talent agency but ran a small business that trained models and aspiring actors to 1999-2002 under Matrix Talent Mgmt and On The Run Ent. The business closed down after a series of these events went on in a period of 3 months. Work slowed, some actors weren't paying their talent dues for being referred for paid work, and after a theft happened in her personal home office where almost 1,000 was stolen from work she just did on "Hardball". Ever since, she simply referred only.
*Aziza does not act as an assistant casting director or work for bands, other artists etc* She simply refers them when time allows* If you have any questions, please email her at otrunreps@yahoo.com
